Micro Distillation

Micro distillation is an advanced analytical technique designed to determine the boiling characteristics of petroleum fuels, biofuels, and light hydrocarbons with minimal sample volume. It delivers fast, accurate, and automated distillation analysis for laboratories that demand high precision and efficiency in fuel characterization and quality control.

The system performs full-range distillation analysis according to international standards such as ASTM D7345, using a sealed micro-environment that controls temperature, vapor flow, and condensation with exceptional precision. This eliminates operator dependency and enhances repeatability across multiple measurements.

Equipped with rapid micro-heating and active cooling mechanisms, the instrument completes distillation curves in a fraction of the time compared to traditional large-scale methods. It enables laboratories to achieve reliable boiling range data in minutes, increasing throughput and reducing energy consumption.

The micro distillation process requires only a few milliliters of sample, minimizing waste and exposure to volatile materials. This compact and efficient approach supports sustainability, safety, and operational cost reduction in petroleum testing and chemical laboratories.

High-resolution sensors monitor temperature and volume continuously, providing accurate determination of initial and final boiling points (IBP and FBP), recovery percentages, and vapor-liquid equilibrium behavior for a wide range of fuels including gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and solvents.

The fully automated operation includes digital data acquisition, integrated sample handling, and automatic cleaning cycles. These features ensure traceable, reproducible results and seamless integration with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) for enhanced data management.

Micro distillation is crucial in refining, blending, and R&D applications, providing essential data for volatility assessment, process optimization, and product development. It supports decision-making in quality assurance and helps maintain compliance with global fuel specifications.

By combining speed, precision, and efficiency in a compact design, PAC’s micro distillation technology delivers consistent, high-quality results that empower laboratories to streamline operations, reduce sample usage, and enhance the accuracy of boiling range analysis.
